I’ve gone off Vodka!

I think i have put myself off vodka for ever, saturday night i drank only vodka, and i hardly remember a thing, all i know is that i have had the most painful hangover for the last 36 hours and im only just getting over it. I dont want to dwell on it because it only makes me feel sick again, but i certainly wont be getting that drunk again for a while.

Jolt cola, im currently trying to perswade myself to get some of this, its pretty expensive and has to be shipped from america, but it just seems like the perfect drink to me, nealry twice the caffine of normal cola, and comes in a huge can shapped like a battery, just the thing i need tokeep my day of defeat skills sharp.

Tom3 first introduced me to eboys work and it is just amazing, i would love to get a city scape poster for my wall but at £20 a pop, i’ll have to wait until i get a job. It most take weeks and weeks to create these things, its very impressive, lots more on his website.

Ignoring useless info

This article jumped right out at me when i was browsing digg just a minute ago, its about how and experiment is showing that smarter people often filter out lots of information and save jsut the important bits in their memory, rather than just having bigger brains, they are more efficient at storing information.

Now i’m not claiming to be smart, i am quite good at maths and uni work, and have a resonably high IQ, what made me so interested in this article is something that i have especially noticed for the past few years, and that is when i have a phone conversation, sometimes even a normal conversation, once it finishes i can never remember much that was said, even hour long phone calls always seem to me like they have never happened. Except that if there is an important outcome, or i was told something which i must remember during the call, then i can remember that.

Example: Mum phones up to tell me to find out a train time for her on the internet, but also asks me how uni is, and how lauren is and all kinds of other things abotu home and family. A few seconds after the phone call, i dont remember any of it, jsut that i have to find out a train time for her.

It always confused me slighty, i just thought that normally phone calls are kind pointless jatter and there was no point in remembering them, but maybe it was my brain filtering out the jatter and remembering the important bits of the information.

Interesting, maybe i r smart…

Its the weekend already?

I feel kinda guilty for not doing a huge amount of work this week, and taking thursday off ment that i only went into uni for 2 days, and now its saturday and i have another 2 days off!! So i’ve been taking lots of photos and working on website designs, im really getting the hang of photoshop and dreamweaver, after having both of them for a few years and never really using them. Been doing a lot of fake double exposure and ghost shots using photoshop, and they are all on flicr thanks to my pro account and 2Gb a month upload, i’m getting back into photography a bit now and web programming too.

I wont be going to see billy talent in april as the tickets for give it a name have sold out, i was bothered at first, but now i’m not so upset, it will save a at least £100, and its not like they wont come to england again, when more people will come with me to see them.

Dads birthday in a weeks time, and i have no idea what to get him, he’s 51, i think, and a big car fan, but im not made of money at the moment and its difficult to think of something original, and how can i top last years track day?

The Beer.com picture i posted about yesterday is still going strong at 632 views after 24 hours!! by tomorrow it will be my most viewed picture, i just wonder how much it can continue to rise before it levels off.

Yesterday i got my bargin of the month: 282gb of storage for £18.97, in the form of 50 DVD-R and 10 DVD-RW from sainsburys, i’ve never seen dvds that cheap on the net before delivery costs, so i snapped up as much as i could afford, wont need to by any for a while now, and i can backup all my simpsons (37Gb) nice and cheaply too.

Messing with Flickr

At lunchtime today when i bought my flickr Pro account, i uploaded this picture:

And put a number of tags on it, tags that i wouldnt normally put on a picture. Now 12 hours later and it’s had 310, no make that 311 views!! I did this to see what kind of response i get, i’ve tagged lots of my photos before and never really got many views on pictures other than a few of lauren and one of my great finds Catsup one:

All of the top viewed photos on my flickr have one thing in common…. one tag… BOOBIES!! Yep, which implies that majority of flickr viewers and looking for porn!!

And they are all lurkers, not one added it as a favourite or comment!

I have to be honest and say that i dont exactly use flickr as its intended, mainly general picture hosting for my blog, although i do upload photographs too. But that is quite amazing how many times more views that pic got over say, a photo of my ipod nano, 100 views over 2 months.

I may test this theory more in future. Just get some sexy pics and upload them to a few different accounts and see what happens.

One last check of views…318!!! Thats gone up 21 since i started writing this!! Amazing
