Happy 3rd Birthday Teabass.com
Today is the 3rd birthday of the domain http://teabass.com, I registered it on 24th June 2006. It’s had it’s ups and downs, and numerous theme changes.
Dreamhost and wordpress 2.1 have served it well for the past 3 years, but it’s time for an upgrade!
I first posted about bumble about a year ago, since then I’ve re-wrote it completely, switching to haml from erb, authlogic from restful authentication and make resourceful from resources controller, as well as loads of tests using shoulda and test unit.
I’ve not pushed the re-write to github yet as it’s not quite there, but you can see the new version of the site running on bumble at: http://new.teabass.com
It’s still a work in progress, especially on the design front but you can see where I’m going with it, a very minimalist design and short(er) form posts.
Here’s a quick brain dump of features/goals I want to achieve with the new site:
Very iPhone friendly, creative commons licensing, syntax highlighting, best practice rails code, full test coverage, integration with a number of apis (google analytics, delicious, twitter, flickr, last.fm, github, wakoopa, digg, upcoming, google reader, amazon wishlist, youtube, ebay, linkedin), sphinx search, openid, progressive enhancement, css3, html5, microformats, lots of caching and more….
