Mystery Card

Mystery Card

I do love a good mystery, throw in some geekery and the promise of starbucks and I’m hooked.

This morning on my walk to work I stumbled upon a little blue gem on the floor of Waterloo Station, a 1.0GB SD card. I did a double take as I walked over it, then realizing what it was I turned round to pick it up.

My initial thought was “Great 1GB of storage for free, Score!”…

“BUT WHAT IS ON THE CARD?!!”

I hear you all shout, well for the moment I don’t have anything with a SD reader in it so I’m going to leave the floor open to speculation, suffice to say I won’t be exploring it on a windows machine, incase some evil hax0r planned the whole thing and will take over my PC the moment I plug it in.

  • Possibly it was used by a spy to carry secret intelligence documents that could destroy nations?
  • Or maybe it was owned by a famous celebrity and has some pictures they wish to remain private?
  • How about an Apple Exec. saved some blueprints for a special new product?

I’ll be able to view it’s contents in a few day’s when I go home for xmas, until then I want to hear all kinds of wild theories about it’s past and contents!

  1. Wow how exciting!

Perhaps it contains a secret plan to force the queenm to abdicate the throne to make way for an evil French millionaire named Sovage to convert the country into one giant prison!

Or is that just the plot of a film?

  5. I remember a podcast where a company hired a security firm to test its systems. Knowing that the biggest problem was the people, the firm made a bunch of USB thumbdrives that would email the firm when plugged in.

After randomly dumping them in the parking lot before work, they sat back and waited, and almost all of them were found and plugged into the company’s machines. The people “Just wanted to see what was on there.”

The idea was that they could have had the program attach any file to the email, and the company was horrified at their people’s lack of common sense.

Gary suggested it was owned by the paparrazi and it’s full of juice pics or linsey lohan etc..

Damn I need an SD reader, it’s very frustrating not knowing whats on it!

  12. I bet it will be just some random pics from some tourists camera.
Boring I know, but fun and interesting all the same!

  13. Agree with Taoski. Probably just photos from some boring ass. The most exciting thing you’ll find is perhaps pictures of his girlfriend/wife, topless but with panties on.
Other than that, personal photos with no meaning to you, possibly some good views.

  14. this should be interesting.

  15. If it only has boring photographs on it… which quite frankly is highly unlikely (it’s got to be Quake 5), perhaps I can go on a voyage to return the card to it’s rightful owner.

No idea how i would do that but it might be fun (or get me killed) either way it makes for interesting reading!!
