Update Successful
Wordpress 2.1 updated without any problems at all and it seems all my usual plugins are still working too, SCORE! Shame that they developers pretty much forgot about Safari, at least we got a basic richtext editor in 2.0.6
I used this guide to make sure I didn’t mess anything up: http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress
Have a great day!

Thanks man, I didn’t even know it was coming out. Upgrading now…

Yeah it’s a nice update, I didn’t bother with updating any of the small updates but this one worked just fine and all of my plugins and themes work straight out of the box.
Be sure to backup your DB just incase you do mess something up, and turn all your plugins off before you ftp the upgrade.

I was planning this too at some point… maybe, if I get round to it. Might have to buy that GTD book first though so I get the inspiration to do something other than play XboxLive.
I have only just turned on my Akismet though after nearly 6 months of spam hell!
Still… made my stats look good though!

PS. I’ve been looking for a good advertising solution for my weblog, can you recommend one other than YPN or Adsense?

You could go for Amazon marketing, i forget what it’s called but bascially advertises amazon products on your site and you get a piece of the action.
or possibly a better solution, at least for me was a few referral schemes or affiliate programs, wit think geek for example: http://www.thinkgeek.com/affiliates/
